Steve Jobs has a message to tell to the portable gaming console companies, the iPod Touch is “the best portable device for playing games.” I don’t know if people will buy this device just for the purpose of playing games, but all of its capabilities make it a cool gadget to own. The Apple CEO mentioned the great availability of games, including the support of companies such as Electronic Arts and Gameloft. Out of the 3000+ applications, over 20% of them are games. Basically, any electronic gadget with a monitor can be a gaming device, but will the new iPod Touch be recognized as a real portable console? Let’s not forget the new iPhone can do this, too. Whatever Apple device people prefer to play their games with, it will complete most closely with the Zune than with the Nintendo DS and the Sony PlayStation Portable. The Zune and the iPod Touch have lots of similar features. I guess Microsoft will do everything it can to make its Zune device succeed. I believe this is the beginning of a new portable game console battle, the light-weight ones.

No sé si la gente comprará este dispositivo con el propósito de jugar juegos, pero todas sus capacidades lo convierten a un aparato buenísimo de obtener. El jefe ejecutivo de Apple mencionó la gran disponibilidad de juegos, incluyendo la colaboración de compañías tales como Electronic Arts y Gameloft. De las más de 3000 aplicaciones, más del 20% de aquellas son juegos. Fundamentalmente, cualquier aparato electrónico con una pantalla puede ser un dispositivo de juegos, pero ¿será reconocido el nuevo iPod Touch como una verdadera consola portátil? No nos olvidemos también que el nuevo iPhone puede hacer lo mismo. Cuál sea el dispositivo Apple que la gente prefiera para jugar sus juegos, competirá más de cerca con el Zune que con el Nintendo DS y el Sony PlayStation Portátil.
