PLAY!: Back to Norway‏ | De regreso a Noruega

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., November 10, 2008 – Jason Michael Paul Productions, Inc. announced today that PLAY!, a symphony concert world tour with music from a catalogue of blockbuster video game titles will come back to the city of Oslo, Norway with one concert on Friday, March 20, 2009. After the great success in 2007, PLAY! will return to Scandinavia with an all new show.

Highlights of the concert will include all new video and orchestrations presented by full orchestra, and choir. Video game titles CASTLEVANIA, THE ELDER SCROLLS IV: OBLIVION, GUILD WARS, HALO, CHRONO CROSS and much more will be a part of the show as well. (Please know that the concert program is subject to change)

As a special surprise for European fans PLAY! will feature two brand-new medleys of music from Commodore 64 and Commodore Amiga classics, supervised by game music experts Chris Abbott (BACK IN TIME album series) and Jan Zottmann (IMMORTAL album series).

The concert in Oslo, Norway will take place on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 8 PM at the famous Ekeberghallen Concert Hall and will be accompanied by the attendance of video games composers from all over the world. The music will be performed by Local Orchestra and a chorus conducted by Grammy Award-winning artist Arnie Roth.

Rock Band: Foo Fighters’ The Colour and the Shape

ROCK BAND® BRINGS FOO FIGHTERS ALBUM THE COLOUR AND THE SHAPE TO THE ROCK BAND® MUSIC CATALOG OF DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT

MTV Games and Harmonix announced today that Foo Fighters’ best selling album, The Colour and the Shape, will become the seventh complete album to join the Rock Band® Music Store catalog of downloadable content.

Selling more than 2 million copies in the US alone, The Colour and the Shape is the most successful album from the alternative rock band and includes hit singles “Monkey Wrench,” “Hero” and “Everlong”. With “Everlong” already featured on the Rock Band 2 soundtrack, the DLC album will include the following tracks:

5. “Wind Up”

The Colour and the Shape will be available for download starting November 11, 2008, for the Xbox®360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and November 13, 2008, for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. Pricing will be $19.99 (1600 Microsoft Points) for the album, or $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) per track.

With the release of this album Rock Band fans will now have access to 14 solid tracks from the Foo Fighters – “Learn To Fly” was already featured on the original Rock Band soundtrack. All 14 tracks can be played in Rock Band 2’s different modes including Quickplay where the album itself will be called out in its own subheader, and Tour Challenges, where users will be prompted to play through all Foo Fighters tracks in a standalone setlist.

The Colour and the Shape joins the growing list of Rock Band albums in the DLC music catalog, which includes Mötley Crüe’s Dr. Feelgood, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Rush’s Moving Pictures, Megadeth’s Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?, Pixies’ Doolittle, Judas Priests’ Screaming For Vengeance and The Cars’ The Cars. Rock Band 2 continues to satisfy music fans and gamers’ voracious appetite for rock with more than 26 million downloads since its launch on November 20, 2007. The Rock Band Music Store allows players to preview and purchase downloadable individual music tracks and packs from the vast selection of offerings available to date without ever leaving the game as they build their own custom Rock Band library.
Rock Band and Rock Band 2 allow online play and features that expand the boundaries of music gaming. Rock Band downloadable content is playable and integrated into setlists in all game modes. In order to play downloadable content for head-to-head matches or multiplayer online, all players must own the same downloadable track. Downloadable content for Xbox 360 is available for purchase via Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for Xbox 360 using Microsoft Points and is downloaded directly to the hard drive of Xbox 360. Downloadable content for the PLAYSTATION 3 system’s version of Rock Band is available for purchase on the PlayStation®Store through the free PlayStation®Network and is downloaded directly to PLAYSTATION 3 system’s built in hard drive.

Rock Band 2 for Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 system is now available nationwide and supports all previously downloaded content. Rock Band 2 for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and the Wii™ home videogame console from Nintendo will ship in December 2008.

Rock Band and Rock Band 2 are rated “T” for Teen (lyrics, mild suggestive themes) by the ESRB.
