[EN]: It’s great to see kids thinking about what their parents or other relatives had for fun. While some of them may already know what a smartphone and a 3DS are, these kids, except a few, had no idea about the earlier days of Nintendo’s successful portable, the GameBoy. Back in the late 1980s, exactly 25 years ago, Nintendo was #1 with the NES and the Game Boy. So, what do these kids think about the Game Boy? Watch the video.

Going to E3 2014

Hi everyone.
This year, I am attending the Electronic Entertainment Expo. Once again, I will get to see the latest games, and report the most important news as they happens. Marquis is coming to Los Angeles and to E3 for the very first time, too.

For now, I can tell you I will be interviewing Alexey Pajitnov, the creator of the video game Tetris. If you haven’t heard, Tetris celebrates its 30th anniversary today (June 6) and at E3, I will ask Pajitnov some questions about the upcoming game, Tetris Ultimate. Along with Pajitnov, I will also speak with Henk Rogers, the person responsible for bringing Tetris to Nintendo’s GameBoy in the 1980s.

We will also be at Microsoft’s E3 2014 Presentation, so please pay attention to our tweets on Monday, and will ask some questions to an Xbox representative about the present and future of the Xbox One.

Expect a chat about Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes for sure, and hopefully a new visit to the Nintendo booth to experience some fantastic Wii U and 3DS games as well.

Stay tuned for more.

Marquis: “E3 Predictions 2014: Can Nintendo come back on top this year?”

E3 2014 - Nintendo

E3 2014 – Nintendo

With E3 2014, one of the biggest events in gaming, getting closer and closer, it seems it’s finally about that time to start making predictions or at least theories as to what’s in store for us this year. And what better what to begin than with the biggest veteran to gaming, Nintendo. Now then it’s no secret that Nintendo isn’t exactly finding great ground with the Wii U. With the confusion for consumers that this is in fact a next gen console and not just an accessory to the Wii, plus the long wait for true big console selling titles, and lack of third party support; it feels like Wii U is going to have to pull out all the stops this year to let us know why we need to have a Wii U in our homes by the end of this year.

But it’s not all bad news for Nintendo. On the 3DS front things are doing great. Big titles such as Pokémon X/Y, Fire Emblem, Kingdom Hearts, and other familiar titles have been flourishing on the 3DS making it the go to hand-held unlike the PS Vita. And with the announcement of Pokémon Omega Red and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, it seems Nintendo wants to get some more crazy sales out of the 3DS this year too. But can Nintendo really come out on top this year? Do they have games that will really wow us? And for the first time can they really show us games that make use of their console in a unique way only capable on Wii U? This year for E3 it seems Nintendo intends yet again to go with their own Nintendo Direct-styled event, only this year with a different twist. This year they’ll be streaming their newest games online throughout all of E3, they’ll be hosting a special Smash tournament on the show floor, and they’ll be showing off demos of all the new exclusives at select Best Buys all across the U.S.

Things got a little out of Nintendo’s control last year with the stream acting up for many people or simply not working at all, but it’s possible Nintendo will learn from this mistake and thus be more prepared this year. Mario Kart 8 will be the next big title to grace the Wii U before E3 which is sure to sell some Wii U’s. But definitely big titles such as Super Smash BrosPokémon, and the mysterious Dynasty Warriors/Zelda crossover titled Hyrule Warriors will be showcased at this year’s Nintendo event. As for me personally, I’m also excited for some more Pokémon news as well as more on Bayonetta 2X, and hopefully brand-new IP that will really make use of the Wii U gamepad. Nintendo has always been known for setting new trends not following them. This can be proven from the Wii and how it got many new people into the gaming scene through Wii Sports and a variety of other games. And I still believe Nintendo has the potential to turn things around. The real question is, “Will they?” Only time can tell, but nonetheless everything is riding on what Nintendo does this year at E3 and I can’t wait to see what our favorite underdog pulls out of their sleeve this year.

A Special Nintendo Direct Super Smash Bros edition coming on April 8 | Una edición especial Nintendo Direct de Super Smash Bros. llega el 8 de abril

Isabelle - Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS

Isabelle – Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS

[EN]: On April 8th, Nintendo will present an online broadcast dedicated to news about the upcoming game Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and the 3DS.

This title is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and could really help the Wii U in terms of console sales. As seen in the previous generation, Super Smash Bros. Brawl became one of the most popular games for the Wii, perhaps the favorite one for lots of players.

What characters and features could we expect?

There are still things that remain unknown, such as the entire cast of fighters, the release date, and features that will be unique to the Wii U and the 3DS versions.

Realistically, we may only see one or two new characters appearing for the first time in the series, though what comes to gamers’ minds is if their favorite non-Nintendo hero will make the cut. Also, will Solid Snake be back into fighting arena with Mario and friends?

Mark your calendar for April 8th at 6PM Eastern / 3PM Pacific for Nintendo Direct.

Google and Nintendo: Catching Pokémon

[EN]: Since Google’s April Fools’ Pokémon hunt was revealed, I have been trying, of course, as a Pokémon master, to catch’em all, but I am still having a hard time finding everyone of them.

So far, I have seen one or more in well-known places I have searched on Google Maps, starting in cities such as NY and LA, but, have you tried Machu Picchu? I can’t believe I found one there. Try it.
