[EN]: The announcement of the upcoming EA Access service, a subscription plan for Xbox One users offering a selection of EA games for $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year, made gamers share various opinions last week. However, what was not mentioned by Electronic Arts was if its service would require a working Xbox Live Gold account.

Today, an EA representative confirmed Xbox Live Gold will not be necessary for the EA Access service, though Xbox Live Silver (free) members will not be able to enjoy the features seen in the Gold membership such as multiplayer mode in games. “EA Access doesn’t require an Xbox Live Gold subscription; however, in order to use multiplayer functionality for games in the vault or EA games on Xbox One you’ll need a Gold subscription per usual,” stated an EA representative to Polygon.

EA Access for Xbox One will offer a very attractive benefit: pre-release play up to five days before launch of selected titles.
