Activision announces Guitar Hero Live | Activision anuncia Guitar Hero Live

[EN]: Activision announced today the franchise that made lots of people get up from the couch to play cool music and rock all night is coming back to game consoles and selected mobile devices later this year, with Guitar Hero Live. The new GH title is a return to the series that stated back in late 2005.

Guitar Hero Live, in development by studio FreeStyleGames (previously responsible for DJ Hero and DJ Hero 2), will include new ways to play the game with GH Live and GHTV.

GH Live, according to Activision, is “a first-person point of view where you are up on stage as the star of the show;” it’s a live-action experience never seen before in the franchise. By playing a series of songs as the main guitarist, you’ll be looking at real people expressing themselves according to your level of skills with a real band you actually share the virtual space with.

With GHTV, Activision makes the debut of the “world’s first playable music video network” letting users discover new songs to play with friends online. With various channels, there will be lots of content to choose from via this platform.

Both new modes will also be playable on mobile devices.

“Guitar Hero is a franchise that so many people love. Figuring out how to bring it back with true breakthrough innovation has been years in the making, and a labor of love,” mentioned Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, Inc. “Guitar Hero Live lets people rock real crowds with real reactions. Our goal was literally to give people stage fright. And with GHTV, we have created the world’s first playable music video network. All of it is playable on consoles, or mobile devices. Guitar Hero is back and better than ever.”

“We are pleased to support the launch of Guitar Hero Live, building on one of the most successful music video-game franchises of all time, and providing our artists with a fun and interactive experience for their fans,” Bruce Resnikoff, President of Universal Music Enterprises, said via a press release.

Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy) and Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance) will be at the Best Buy Theater in NY with Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg and Jamie Jackson, Creative Director and Co-Head of FreeStyleGames, on April 14th from 6pm to 9pm, followed by an encore at Best Buy stores in Union Square (NYC) and Torrence, CA, both from 1pm to 5pm on April 18.
