Xbox games are coming to Amazon Fire TV

Microsoft and Amazon have unveiled a new cloud gaming collaboration set to launch in July, which will enable users with specific Amazon Fire TV Sticks to play Xbox games without the need for a console. By simply downloading the Xbox app on their Fire TV device and logging in with their Microsoft account, users can start playing games instantly, eliminating the need for an Xbox console.

For those who don’t own an Amazon Fire TV Stick, it’s worth noting that it’s more affordable than an Xbox, although there are some costs involved in this setup. To make this work, players will need to have or purchase a Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2023) ($59.99) or a Fire TV Stick 4K (2023) ($49.99). In addition, players will need an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription and a compatible Bluetooth controller, such as an Xbox wireless controller, Xbox adaptive controller, or a PlayStation DualSense or DualShock 4 controller.

According to the Fire TV Stick 4K Max page on Amazon (screenshot), a compatible Wi-Fi 6E router is recommended for smoother video streaming. However, the product page has not been updated with specific information about playing Xbox games via the cloud with Fire TV 4K Max.
